I walk a lonely road, the only road that I have ever known
The taste of water has never been more awful! Every drip stings my tastebuds and every drop rattles my hard palate. The taste bothers me for awhile, like how I shrivel up against the scratch of the chalkboard. Or how I churn when I beam at an unusual bone movement. It takes me awhile to realize that this is home. Where the fridge is always packed with food and the kitchen sink isn’t piled with grease. Where I get basic cable by trading away high speed internet, and let’s not forget about the phone ringing every other hour. I don’t ever need the window cleaning service because nimbus upstairs gets the job done every once in awhile. Plus I can’t get around anywhere because every time I would need to pay a finely dented gold rimmed dime. Those miserable mornings and those noisy evenings make me realize I am not quite hearty. Two years away made everything nostalgic, freshly painted onto the walls encased in my imagination. But I am not ready to be back and I know this is home because I can come back at any time, for whatever reason to pairs of loving arms…sometimes. This is not my place to be right now, noisy mornings and noisier evenings are what I am part of, though I could do without the greasy sinks and ring stains on toilet bowls. I feel like a traveler, explorer, journey to the west, literally. When I have completed my quest, I know I’ll definitely be back. Back, in black.
